I read this in one sitting, and really loved it. Very easy to read, and I though the main character was very real. I also love the cover! My only bit of critisism would be that the ending was a bit too perfect

A taut and short compelling scifi read. It reminded me a lot of [a:Beth Revis|4018722|Beth Revis|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1284958744p2/4018722.jpg]'s book [b:Across the Universe|8235178|Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1)|Beth Revis|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1401852218i/8235178._SY75_.jpg|13082532] and despite my hate of bully colonists (especially armed ones) I still enjoyed the read. The world building was clever and the ideas were new to me. My only issue was the ending which seemed super rushed and therefore I missed the satisfying pay off I was waiting for. This is a very short book, (author [a:Hugh Howey|3064305|Hugh Howey|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1327581631p2/3064305.jpg] explains he wrote it as part of NoNoWriMo), and I would have loved it if he'd taken the time to extend the ending and let us revel in the final third.

I've loved everything else Howey has written. This just really didn't do it for me. It either felt rushed or dragged on, and I didn't care about any of the characters.

Another great book from Hugh Howey! His characters and worlds are always convincing.

I was so excited when I happened upon this book in the library, but was quickly disappointed with it. Had there been something else to read in the house I wouldn’t have bothered finishing. Tone, pacing and character development all fell flat. As a fan of Wool, I wanted to have my 14 year old read it, but the misogynist overtones and references to rape which did nothing to develop the plot or further characterize the archetypal bully were a total turn off. The best part of the book was reading on the jacket that AMC has Wool in development.

The story was good, but there was so much more that could have been done with it. There was lots of building up leading to a quick 4 chapter wrap up. That was greatly disappointing. It felt as though the author got bored with writing the story and just wanted to hurry up and be done.

Really an interesting book at the start. Great plot line, great characters to begin with, but hugh kinda let me down here. He couldn't keep the characters real, they became 2 dimensional. Then he threw in some crudeness that I really didn't care for, and made choices for the characters that I just couldn't really see happening. I think he is a talented author, but this book was a bit of a let down.

This book really annoyed me. It's only saving grace was the narrator that I liked most of the time, without whom I might have given this 1 star. Overall just not engaging and fantastical to a fault.
