Let me preface this with: I do not usually read regency or period romances. I'm a strictly contemporary gal, and this might be why I had trouble with this.
The first half, I was enjoying it. Sure, there was misogyny, but it was dealt with well since that was the time for it. Quinn did a brilliant job balancing a strong heroine and the time period. Simon and Daphne had brilliant banter and there was a lot of sexual tension.
But then... **SPOILERS** the duel and the marriage all happened at the halfway point and I was like... What are we going to do with the next 6 hours? Is this going to be 6 hours of unnecessary angst? The answer is yes. And while I hate unnecessary angst, I could have overlooked it because I liked the couple. But then... The whole non consent plot. For both Daphne and Simon, each character did awful things to each other in a relationship, and I spent the last half of the book wanting to scrub my skin off. I'm not sure I'm in the mood to read another regency romance after this.

there's a scene where she knows he doesn't want children but deliberately tries to get pregnant without his consent which is highly uncomfortable

There is a sexual assault scene  where a woman assaults her husband. I can't in good faith recommend this book.
