♥️ Gotta love a couple with good, easy banter! Very good for a sequel and honestly could be a standalone itself since they go over the highlights of the first book and how the events affected the main characters in this book so well. I identified with Calladia on a few levels, but specifically coming out of a bad relationship and always expecting how something is going to fail/let you down romantically before it actually happens - so it was nice to see her get a happy ending. I also always fall for the villain, and I like how this plot line doesn’t diminish Astaroth’s past villainy, or go for the easy ‘villain with a heart of gold’ trope but acknowledges that sometimes working towards a specific goal and not caring how you get to it can cause a future you don’t actually want. I listened to this one, and I admit to may laugh out loud moments and the spicy scenes were also very decent, a solid

The first book was by far my favorite. This one? I struggled to finish it mostly because I couldn't imagine those two together. I didn't get the chemistry between them

Simple, but fun. Not really my cup of tea, and I won't be reading the rest of the series, but if you like mostly fluffy urban fantasy/paranormal, this was pretty well done.

Plot was predictable to me and I don't personally enjoy when authors call out real life websites, companies, etc (in this case, Ao3 referenced multiple times). However the characters were charming and the message was positive.
