It took me a long time to get through this book, as parts of it were slow going with a lot of names and connections that were hard to follow. Other parts of it were absolutely thrilling for non-fiction! It's a very interesting story and I believe Stieg Larsson would be proud.

I was really excited about this book at first, but it was filled with so many details and minutia that it didn't really know my interest. And the ending was very unsatisfactory.

Fascinating and frightening look into the how and perhaps the why the assassin of Sweden’s PM in 1986 has not been identified.

Wavered between 2 and 3 stars. It was hard to get into this book, perhaps because I read a translation and didn’t know much about the assassination - or about any of the theories connected to it. But as much as it was explained, I still found a lot of the intricacies confusing. However, I really enjoyed learning more about Steig Larsson’s research. I especially liked reading about him and his focus on uncovering extremism...I found myself thinking there seemed to be a lot of parallels to his work in the Millennium series.

Couldn't put it down. The sprawling history and detailed research were all fascinating, even for someone like me who wasn't aware of the history of it at all before reading it.

I think anyone with an appreciation for Stieg Larsson's writing may be drawn to a book like this. What initially drew me to this book was Larsson's dogged determination to investigate far-right criminals, both in Sweden and throughout the world. His investigation went on for decades and his investigation techniques were able to uncover facts that typical journalists wouldn't have been able to uncover.

While this book initially sparked my interest, it seemed like it started to go in circles after awhile. After Larsson's death, the investigation into Sweden's prime minister Olaf Palme, seems to get stuck in neutral. Despite Stocklassa's continued investigations, the murder remains unsolved nearly 40 years later. While Stocklassa seemed to have faith that the murder would be solved soon, I felt that the individuals without pods of power will continue to live their lives scott free.

A free Amazon first read, and pretty enjoyable. The middle dragged, but parts were fascinating. This was certainly a crime I knew nothing about, and cool to learn more about Steig

A pretty decent book. Interesting subject matter, but I kind of felt that it was a bit confusing. A whole lot of tangled threads that weren't quite straightened out. Not unexpected, given what the subject matter is, but I still felt like it jumped around a lot.
