I adored this book! It is a fantastic friends to lovers contemporary romance that deals with a serious thing in a really fun - and sometimes downright filthy - way!  I am not going to lie; when I received the ARC, I was nervous because I have not managed to finish a contemporary romance between a cis het couple in ages (no monsters or aliens? No fated mates? Forget it ~ my DNF list of good books is real long!) But when I say I devoured this, I mean it! It didn’t matter that my family is in town and I was busy. I had to know where the journey was going!

Purity is a friends to lovers romance about Livvy, who was raised in purity culture but has made the decision to leave the toxic standards behind. She asks her best friend (who she has been in love with for years) to help her out. But Cole has his own feelings for Livvy that complicate that request.

I didn’t grow up with the purity culture in the book, but I was raised with its close cousin, Catholic guilt. And I went through a similar journey of removing it from my life. The book captures the joy, grief, anger, and fear that come with that journey!

There is spice and it is hot!! There is possessive MMC who is also devoted & has been pining for years. There is the Madonna and the Wh0re. It has just enough heat and build up, great character growth, & relationship depth. Both MCs have distinct voices with nuance and tics. The side characters were also well developed and multidimensional.

I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for a unbiased review.
