All three of these (Reader, Counter & Keeper) are interesting reads. For me, the relationship between Jude and Uriah is the highlight; watching it develop from suspicion to trust and respect to a true partnership is a treat. The mustard scene in The Body Counter exemplifies their connection and is just perfect.

I swear this series gets better with every book. Jude is a force to be reckoned with, no matter what horrors life has thrown at her. I hope there's another book to come but if not then I'd say this was a satisfying ending.

Silné, silné, silné. Téma, vyjádření pocitů, rozuzlení. Opět hodně propojené s osobním životem Jude, ale i s jejím samotným případem. Geniální.

One fabulous read!

Though The Body Keeper could be read as a standalone, I would highly recommend starting from the first book in the series. Part of what I loved so much about this book and series, is the development of the MCs over the entirety of the series. While the crimes themselves and the resulting plots were highly imaginative and required the reader to suspend reality a bit, the character development and their interactions with each other did not. In fact, they were completely realistic, as the author took her time in revealing them and their growth over the series and contrasted nicely with the fast pace and gruesome nature of the crimes.

Both Jude and Uriah have suffered tragedies. Jude, especially, has physically survived the unimaginable. Her mental survival is a bit more questionable and reading about her struggle to cope and find peace in her new reality was fascinating to read. The Body Keeper brings them both out the other side and while each is irrevocably changed, we are also given hope for their happiness and some sense of normalcy for them both.

Closing this book was like saying goodbye to beloved friends, so bitter sweet. I'm ecstatic that I stumbled upon this series and met these characters but knowing this is the last of their story, makes me a bit sad.

This third installment of the series was the most thrilling yet! Detective Jude Fontaine is called the scene of a frozen body found trapped in the ice of a Minneapolis lake. The discovery leads her and her partner, Uriah Ahsby to more bodies in the lake with links to children that have been missing for 20 years.

After returning home from investigating she finds a four-year-old abandoned in the snow on her apartments doorstep. The child was just told to wait. He doesn't know whom his parents are or how he got there. He doesn't even have a name...only Boy.

Jude and Uriah find connections between the boy in the snow and the boys in the lake. The book will keep you on the edge of your seat! Love the series highly recommend!

This book is by far my favorite of the series. What a wild ride this book is. Twists and turns not just in the plot of the murder but also in the overall arch of the story.
I love the character development that jude has gone through and how she is comming out on the other side.
I also really enjoy the mystery of the murder story.
This book is well worth the read even if you just pick it up as a stand a long book. Its worth it.
