It took me a hot minute to get around to reading this book.

A Winter’s Promise by Robert Jordan is the ninth book in the Wheel of Time series. At this point, almost everything I have to comment on would be a spoiler, so I’m simply not going to talk about the plot. Surprisingly though, Mat and Rand is not as annoying in this book as they usually are. I wish Elaine, Egwene, Perrin, and Faile had a bit more time as they are my favorites, but I’m sure they’ll pop up in the upcoming books. At this point, there is just so much happening that I spent a good portion of the book just trying to remember what exactly happened in the last one. Granted, the last time I picked up a book in the series was in September. Besides that, the pacing was fine and the characters all have their own motivations which I appreciate. The further I get into this series though, the less likely I am to recommend it; it’s simply so long.

This is an excellent addition to the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan as the story continues to build. I was a particular fan of Mat Cauthon's narrative in this book where his story gained some more excitement. Straight into book 10!
