SO glad StoryGraph recommended this to me! If you're like me and go bananas for Over the Garden Wall but are also into darker stories, this is the book for you. I could not get enough of any of the stories, and I found it especially compelling that most, if not all, of them were ultimately metaphors for loss or coping with it. TLDR; this is a fantastic book and you should read it!!!

to restate what everyone else has already said, the art is beautiful. like it really popped off that hard for the conclusion??? wow. but a few of the stories were too open-ended for my liking

If I'm honest I was pretty underwhelmed by this. The reviews make it out that this book is super spooky and worth multiple rereads, but I personally did not see this. I wish it was creepier, and that the stories had more substance, plot, and twistiness. However, I did generally enjoy the art style. In terms of the individual stories:

Our Neighbour's House: this one went over my head. I didn't get it at all
A Lady's Hands are Cold: I really loved the colour palette for this one, but it was pretty basic
His Face So Read: too much is left unexplained here for the story to have any real impact
My Friend Janna: this was fine, it had more explanation, but the story didn't really go anywhere interesting
The Nesting Place: the most well-rounded of the stories

An anthology of horror/thriller comics by Emily Carroll.  I recognized her style and picked up the book.  It was a very good purchase.  It's an unsettling collection of horror comics.  All the stories are very atmospheric and the horror isn't gore and blood, but rather the creeping unease of realizing that you don't know what will save you.  (Maybe you can't be saved?) It's beautifully paced and immersive and a really good read.
I would say teen and up because these are the sort of stories that burrow in and linger.
