Eerie and beautifully illustrated, this graphic anthology reads like the dark twin of a beloved bedtime story. It will leave you feeling haunted in your own home yet hungry for more. On a critical note though, the cast of main characters is decidedly monotonous.

Through the Woods is a fast read with 5 creepy short stories that take place in the woods. It's spooky, but not overly scary. The artwork is beautiful! My favorite stories are: A Lady's Hands Are Cold and The Nesting Place. I wish I had this graphic novel as a kid because I would've told theses stories at sleepovers.

Enjoyable read between all the stories in the whole book. Favourite one for story and art would have to be The Nesting Place.

If I'm honest I was pretty underwhelmed by this. The reviews make it out that this book is super spooky and worth multiple rereads, but I personally did not see this. I wish it was creepier, and that the stories had more substance, plot, and twistiness. However, I did generally enjoy the art style. In terms of the individual stories:

Our Neighbour's House: this one went over my head. I didn't get it at all
A Lady's Hands are Cold: I really loved the colour palette for this one, but it was pretty basic
His Face So Read: too much is left unexplained here for the story to have any real impact
My Friend Janna: this was fine, it had more explanation, but the story didn't really go anywhere interesting
The Nesting Place: the most well-rounded of the stories
