A really enjoyable and wholesome sapphic novel, exactly what i was looking for to celebrate pride month!

The whole book, i just wanted to shake Grace Porter and scream “THINGS DONT HAVE TO BE THIS HARD!!!” but alas, she must heal from the childhood trauma of emotionally immature parents like the rest of us. as much as Grace’s parents frustrated and angered me, seeing her healing journey and watching her parents grow along with her left me feeling warm and fuzzy by the end of the book.

I liked the way this began but I slowly lost interest. I think Grace is v depressed and needs therapy not to run to NY. I can't find it in me to care much more about how this ends. Loved the representation. Queer woman, women of color, AAPI, disability rep...I mean it was great but also a bit lackluster.

This was June’s pick in the Calgareads Bookclub. I had no club what this was about I was getting it mixed up with a different book.when I started reading it and it was sapphic I thought perfect it’s Pride month and I have been trying to read more sapphic books. It didn’t work for me. I like the premise of marrying a stranger and finding them again and falling in love. I didn’t care for it overall. I didn’t really like any characters, they were all immature for being the ages they are. Honey Girl (I can’t remember her actual name because she had like 3) was not in control of her life at all and she’s 28. That’s wild to me. Or definitely read like a YA book, which isn’t an issue because I like YA but it shouldn’t have, given their ages.
There were too many unforgettable characters, I can’t even remember anyone’s names. Just not a read for me.

Man i’m actually half rereading this book i started like a year ago but i remember really liking it but as i reread it it didn’t really live up to my memory. But as I kept reading I grew to like it. I love how the main character describes her love interest and how the love interest describes her. The ending was nice so all in all a good book :)
