I’ve now read this and “A year of rest and relaxation” by this author and while the plot is entertaining and there are sparks of joy for me here and there; they are incredible slow and a lot to digest.

I can appreciate how clear and consistent Ottessa Moshfegh's voice is in her writing but I didn't love this one.

All the stories just felt kind of gross and unfinished. Maybe I shouldn't be looking for a moment of catharsis from this kind of writer.
