«I hear a sound inside of me. I hear something ticking inside of me. I hear a sound telling me to hurry up. That sound is the sound of something ending inside of me.»

This plays out like you’d expect, but it’s off-putting all the same. There’s a hazy, strung-out quality to the writing and art that really got under my skin (hah). The scribbly alt-comix line work is an interesting departure from the usual “Manga™️” look and it’s really refreshing, even if (similarly to fellow scribbly line art comic, “From Hell”) it makes it hard to tell the characters apart at times.

A beautiful tragedy with kinetic and fractured art.

Were it not for the art I think I might've given this 4 stars. Interesting psychological thriller and drama about a pop idol slowly losing control as she desperately attempts to stay relevant and attractive. Pretty great take down of fashion, beautfy and celebrity in modern Japanese culture, but could easily be applied to Western nations.

Insanely surreal and aggressively erotic with an excellently disorienting and tension-building narrative style.

A frantic and uncomfortable story that seems to close in on you from all sides as it progresses, just as time and the prosecutors investigation press in on Liliko.

ton of potential but it never really “goes there” the way it should. First time in my life I’m certain the live action is better than the manga.
