Well this book was a tough read. As someone who’s worked in mental health in the past, so many parts of this novel reminded me of people I’ve met and some of the experiences they described.
This book really isn’t about the story, it’s more of a snippet into a moment of someone’s life in the midst of a mental health crisis. But at the same time, it reminds me that what seems so alarming to me is just everyday reality to so many people. Honestly, so many parts of this novel were terrifying and I often had to put the book down and take a few moments to reflect on something traumatic I just read.
If you’re looking for a book to read casually on a holiday or hike you chill by the pool, this is NOT that book. However, if you’re more in the market for some life pondering, soul-destroying or harsh reflections on the realities of living with schizophrenia, then this is the book for you !
