I spent some time thinking "where is this going?" or "what is the direction here?" a lot when reading this book. Luckily, the characters are so charming and the writing engaging, that I just let it happen.

In the end I found it to be quite beautiful and I hope only the best for our boy Johannes.

"We only bite for justice" made me laugh out loud as well.

First of the summer reads!
My friend Richard lent this to me, and as usual, he was right that I would love it.

It's been a long time since I read anything by Dave Eggars, and I don't know why, because he has a gift of making you root for characters and to be carried along, not trying to overrun his story because you want to spend time inside it.

This book, a middle-grades book, is short and simple and the character, a feral dog, is so very loveable with his exaggerations and his utter joy in running and his big heart.

You'll love it.

This Newbery Award winner exceeded all of my expectations, and the audio version was wonderfully performed.

A dramatic philosophical dog running at the speed of light; living for hundreds of years. The ducks, they know nothing.
