It was only when I put down the book after reading in one sitting when I felt how immersive it had been. Definitely worth a read!

The whole book seems to have this ethereal feel to it, like reality and perception aren't quite as you'd expect. It's hyper-focused on minute details, beautifully described, that create a sense of presence at the same time as making everything feel a little strange.

It's like a book of three short stories, but they're chronological and deal with the same characters. A little odd, a little quirky, very wistful and with some emotional heft (I felt as much for the weasels as I did the humans), it's a short but sweet read.

I can see what the book was trying to do, but I don't think it was a successful attempt. Failed short of its goals and won't be a book I think about in the future. Would like to read other works by the author though, hopefully longer and more developed.
