This was my first read by Ali Hazelwood and while it was an easy book to finish, I don't think I would recommend it.

The chemistry between Misery and Lowe was missing, although I found their relationship to be at least a little endearing. The plot felt rushed at the end and

the breakup scene just seemed so out of place.

Overall a quick read but unsatisfying and felt like it could have used more development of the world and the characters.

I was so sat for this book. I read it all in two days. 🫣 There are a few

explicit sex scenes

so if that’s not your thing this book is probably not for you. I liked the world building and the mystery plot was interesting. I really liked

Lowe and Misery’s dynamics and thought they were a good couple.

I actually laughed at some of the lines and enjoyed the humor. I am hoping there is a sequel

because of the ending with Serena being Koen’s mate. I was so gagged when I read that.

I think this is my first ever paranormal romance.
I was knot completely sure what to expect but I do trust Ali Hazelwood to write something entertaining. 
I enjoyed the mystery side plot.
Glad this was my first read of the year - specifically chosen because this year I'll be a Bride.
