That… was surprisingly wholesome… and the worldbuilding wasn’t horrible. 3 cheers for somewhat healthy relationships?

dark funny mysterious

I think this is my first ever paranormal romance.
I was knot completely sure what to expect but I do trust Ali Hazelwood to write something entertaining.
I enjoyed the mystery side plot.
Glad this was my first read of the year - specifically chosen because this year I'll be a Bride.

> I like the world. The setup is good, the politics are a bit... simple but it works
> I like Misery once I could get a feel for her character. She's not your typical heroine and it's nice. I can relate to her a lot.
> I liked Lowe as well. I think he's a good leader and good person (for the most part)
> The "secret" mate thing (Misery being Lowes without her checking it) was actually ok. I'm not a super fan of it, but it wasn't bad writing or anything. And her slowly starting to connect the dots was interesting.
> All the side characters were interesting as well and I liked them a lot!
> I'm so so soooo glad that Serena isn't dead!
> The "plotwist" with Serena being a half were/human was pretty amazing and I was so happy for Misery and her to be back together!
> I liked the overall plot. The "enemies to lovers" thing was ok. It wasn't overly done or anything it made sense for both characters. I liked her motivation for finding her sister and his motivation for peace and protecting his sisters as well. I liked the villain part where they thought it was one person but turned out to be her father.

> I would have liked more Backstory that's explained at the beginning. It was a bit hard getting into the World, understanding everything. It was a bit difficult for me to relate to Misery - she felt a bit off at first.
> The hole basic cultures for weres and vampyres wasn't really explained. And I know that's because Misery wasn't really raised in the vampyre culture and doesn't know anything about the weres because there enemies, but it irritated me not understanding a lot.
