Thank God this book didn't have any cheaters because I was ready to DNF it as soon as something like that would've happened.
This book was clearly better than Every Summer After. Carley's writing kept me in the story and made me want to read more despite the pacing being quite slow. I wasn't bored at all.
I liked the characters and their stories more. Fern's journey was interesting and it showed how your path, priorities and dreams could change in ten years. I had a more complicated relationship with Will because it took me a while to understand him, but everything made sense when I found out his story.
As for their relationship, I think it needed more development and it seemed to rushed. This is why I couldn't give it more than 3.5 stars. Also, there were some storylines that were abandoned and I was left with too many questions.
I'll read the rest of Carley's books, but maybe next summer. However, this book was perfect for me for this time of the year so if you're not ready to let go of summer yet, read this one.
