I really wanted this to be much more than it was. This is the first book in this series that has felt incomplete to me.
As usual, I like the universe and the main plot line. I was also pleasantly surprised at how Apollo was written - I definitely was expecting them to be a more heavy-handed character.
I did not, however, appreciate quite a bit about this book.
Cassandra was nearly insufferable. Her spending a lot of the book lashing out at everyone who interacted with her just for existing was exhausting. I'm also missing any major character development from her that would have made her more likable or sympathetic.
The dom/sub relationship wasn't as nuanced as it should have been - One partner felt more switch to me, and the other more brat. I feel like that could have been leaned into much more than it was just to make it make more sense.
I also felt zero chemistry between the two MCs aside from overt sexual attraction. At the end, they both made pretty big declarations and I have no idea how they got there.
Overall okay, but I'm still pretty disappointed.

I’m def loving the series so far. Cassandra and Apollo are cute. Cassandra is ready to leave Olympus completely no matter her feelings. Apollo’s focus was protecting Cassandra. The drama and craziness in this story. The thirteen better watch their backs.

I love this series. Each book is so good. This one is about Apollo and Cassandra. Cassandra’s itching to get her and her sister out of Olympus because of what her parents did. For the time being she is working for Apollo. When a chance comes up for Apollo to get in with the outsiders and try to figure out what their end goal is, he wants her by his side. That means she needs to pretend to be his date, but she only agrees when Zeus says he will give her what she wants. This book go crazy with all the twists. Honestly I didn’t know who was on anyone’s side most of the time. I can’t wait to find out more about what Zeus and the others will do know that their secret is out.

I adore this series so much. I loved Apollo and Cassandra together. I love that this series is getting more suspenseful and more involved. I loved the almost "locked room" mystery feel of this one. It was such a fun read!
