Harlow and Travis will bring out all your emotions and leave you so happy for them.
Let's just start by talking about the cover. Absolutely beautiful and soooo romantic

3.5 I think the next one will build on this one. Love when there are multiple books in a series where everyone gets their own love story.

Mine to Have (Southern Weddings Book 1) by Natasha Madison
Narrated by Savannah Peachwood and Sean Crisden
1st in a series of interconnected standalones. I recommend reading the prequel first. Contemporary Romance.

Mine to Have is the first of the Southern Wedding Series by Natasha Madison, and as I hop on Goodreads now to get more information, I see there is a free prequel I should have read that would have made Mine to Have even better called Mine To Kiss. I still loved Mine To Have, but I wish I had known to read the prequel first because it was a second-chance romance, and Mine to Kiss was about their first chance.

Harlow and Travis dated throughout college and were very much in love. So in love that Harlow promised to be there for the most important day of his life. Only she thought she’d be the bride. Travis broke it off with her (for her own good) at the end of college, and now four years have passed. They both have their own vet practices in nearby cities but they haven’t seen or spoken to each other since he broke her heart.

Until Harlow got a wedding invitation in the mail to Travis’s wedding. Since she promised she’d be there for his most important day, Harlow showed up with her head held high, only to find one disaster after another had canceled the wedding.
“What if I told you that I never should have let you go?”

As soon as Harlow and Travis saw each other, they both knew. The years melted away and you were able to really feel the love and longing snap back into place like no time had passed. Except he was literally just about to marry someone else, and SHE broke it off. I couldn’t help but wonder in my mind what would have happened if she didn’t.
“This is everything.” I rub my thumb over her cheek, wiping the tear that is rolling down her cheek. “Seeing you again, it just … It made me see that there isn’t anyone out there for me but you.”

Likes:
•The chemistry was amazing.
•Their relationship is so functional with good communication this time.
•I loved all the secondary characters, especially Travis’s sisters.
•Natasha has a unique way of telling a story. She switches POVs each chapter but repeats the last scene from the other person’s POV. While it is sometimes a little distracting, I find it more unique and interesting to see both sides of the same scene.
•Two amazing epilogues.
•There was a LOT of sex but it didn’t sacrifice the story.

Dislikes:
•I didn’t really understand why he broke up with her in the first place, but I think I would have understood more if I read the prequel.
•She should have made him pay a little more.
•I kept wondering what would have happened if his fiance hadn’t had an allergic reaction. I wish it was him to break it off.

The Narration:
Savannah Peachwood and Sean Crisden were amazing. They truly brought the story to life and I think they made it even better.

The Down & Dirty:
Despite not having read the prequel, I loved Mine to Have by Natasha Madison. I can only imagine how much better it would have been if I had known the couple when they were together originally. As it was, it was swoony, sweet, sexy, and fun with a great cast of characters, and I look forward to reading more in The Southern Wedding Series.

Rating: 4.25 Stars, 4 Heat, 5 Narration

Promises aren’t meant to be broken and Harlow is ready to show us just that. Sometimes it takes just seeing that person all over again to realize why you are perfect for each other. I’ve waited so long to read this book. Natasha made sure to deliver ❤️

Travis broke up with Harlow four years ago. One day she gets an invitation to his wedding and she decides to go. Travis’ wedding day is chaotic and stressful. The day turns into a complete disaster. The wedding is called off and Travis ends up spending the night with Harlow. Then they begin to navigate a new future together.

I didn’t know there was a prequel explaining more of Travis and Harlow’s history and break up. I’ll have to read that before I continue on with this series. I’m such a sucker for a small town, second chance romance and this one was good! The miscommunication was a bit frustrating but overall I enjoyed it. This has really good smut too!!

Travis and Harlow are just meant to be. Their chemistry is dynamite and their love for each other is deep, but they live 6 hrs away from each other. Will they survive a long distance relationship? This is a fairly quick read, with just over 200pgs.

For lack of a better way to describe it...

This book felt soulless to me. It was like listening to an itemised list of stuff. There was no depth or substance to any of the relationships or character interactions, and the plot was flimsy at best.

Travis, the MMC, breaks up with Harlow 4 years prior to the main story. He does so for the most ridiculous reason that a simple conversation could have prevented. Harlow wasn't innocent in their breakup as had she pushed back even a little, asked a single question or stood her ground they wouldn't have spent 4 years apart unnecessarily, yet she acted like the scorned party and continued to bring it up throughout the book and play the "victim". News Flash... you were both at fault.

When they did reconnect, in the most ridiculous way may I add, there was absolutely 0 emotional depth to their connection it was all sexual/physical and those spicy scenes were robotic, like the author was working through a check list for what they thought a good spicy scene should have but could only be bothered to skim over them and give the most basic details. The amount of repeated scenes/interactions/dialogue in this was beyond tedious, we don't need the exact same scene & conversation we just had in one chapter repeated verbatim in the next just in the other characters POV. 🙄

This was my first book by this author and I will give another book of hers a try to see if this is a case of it just not being the right book of hers for me to start with and see if I gel better with her other work. The narrators did the best they could with the material in my opinion, like I said this book felt soulless but that wasn't anything to do with the narrators performances as I have enjoyed both of them as performers in other audiobooks.
