World building was great and the conflict description was what made me want to keep reading. All the "romance" included could honestly have been left out and it still would have been a good book.

One of the best fantasy books I’ve read in AGES! Slow burn doesn’t even begin to cover it. The lore of the lands is so complex and there’s nothing I love more than a little bit of corruption in a fantasy.

If you haven’t read this already, then what are you waiting for? It’s absolutely worth it. I couldn’t put it down for the life of me and the plot just kept thickening. I might just call this my new favourite series.

The character development isn’t as deep as it could be. There are so many tropes when there was so much potential for original ideas.

A fun and entertaining book where the real star of the show are the dragons. Xaden may be an amalgamation of Rhysand and Azriel, but it works. It's nice to see a FMC with a disability; it's sad that the only person willing to make accommodations for said character is her ginormous fire breathing death dragon, but that's Basgiath War College for you.
The world building is fast-paced, sometimes too much so, but if you can overlook some plot holes, the relationships between the main characters and their dragons are worth it.

It’s rare to find a fantasy, sci-fi, or adventure book where the main character accurately represents disability. Fourth Wing did, and it meant the world to me. Violet’s struggle to accept that she needs accommodations—then feeling like a fraud when she excels with them, despite her resilience being an asset—mirrors my own experience in real life (minus the dragons).
