Hi, Johnny.
Hi, Shannon.
I wasn't so sure about this series as I do not typically like reading about high schoolers. This book was so emotional. I cried a lot. I'm so happy the Lynch kids are healing. Cannot wait to continue this series.

Meh…

I was super fond of these characters and I’m so glad they got their HEA but there was more I disliked than I liked to be honest!

1: something about how Shannon’s mother was portrayed felt really off and victim blamey to me. The finale of this awful domestic violence situation just didn’t sit right with me.

2: this book and the first book just don’t need to be this long. I felt like it would never end at some stages of reading!

3: I spent the last 10% of this book STRESSED because of the aftermath of the camping trip. Johnny and Shannon were drunk and she couldn’t remember if they had sex or not (and he plainly states he has no condoms for some dumb fucking reason) and even though he says they didn’t, the fact that drink was had and she was unsure, I was convinced she was preggers and I feel like the author did that on purpose because changes to Shannon’s body are mentioned more than a few times and it just made me really annoyed and it felt super manipulative!

4: I’m bummed there wasn’t a time jump epilogue!

I said I wasn’t going to read Joey’s books but I just don’t know now, I feel like I need to know but I also suspect something in regards to Aoife and it’s a trope I hate.

Lizzie is pissing me right off already and I read reviews about her being worse in Gibsie and Claire’s book so I also don’t know about reading that. Maybe after a little break I’ll be more open to reading the next books.

How do I choose just one emotion to describe this book?

Started at the point Binding 13 left off, this book is one huge emotional rollercoaster.

The conclusion of Johnny and Shannon’s story, it follows them as they navigate Shannon’s family, Johnny’s impending rugby career and the tumults of teenage life.

I am not an emotional reader. Yet this book had me swinging from laughter to sobbing to shaking with fear and anger. This story is a journey, and one that you need to be prepared for.

Be warned, it has some serious triggers. Check that list before you read!!!

I absolutely love that Chloe took time to foreshadow the future stories of the minor characters. I am excited to continue to delve into the world of Tommen college.

I hugely recommend this book to… well… anyone!!!

After a devastating injury sidelines him, Johnny Kavanagh struggles to hold onto his dreams. The one thing he’s certain of, however, is his feelings for Shannon Lynch. Traumatized by her return from Dublin and determined to protect her younger brothers, Shannon falls back into old patterns—concealing her past while trying to stay afloat. But when her deepest secret is exposed, everything hangs in the balance.

Immediately after finishing the prequel, I dove into Keeping 13, and I have no regrets. Johnny and Shannon’s story captivated me from the start, and I couldn’t wait to learn more. I loved the second book even more—it showcased how much the characters have grown and how their relationship has blossomed. I particularly appreciated the deeper development of Joey and the other supporting characters. This book was filled with painful moments, and Walsh handled their story with incredible respect. I was deeply satisfied with the ending and found a sense of closure that resonated with me.
