I took my time with this collection and had a great time reading. There were some poems in here that really hit me. But, as is often the case with an anthology, there were also quite a few that I didn't connect with. I'm happy anthologies like this exist though and I'm proud and happy to have it on my shelves!

Some really good poems I wish I bookmarked. A solid amount of poems I didn't really connect with. It's an interesting collection bc some poems don't really feel queer unless you add that lens.

Pulling together 100 queer poems from across various times, identities and places sounds like a tall order, but this book does it beautifully, reminding me of some I already adore, and some entirely new ones.

It is also clear that a lot of love has gone into this collection, as they are very well chosen, and sit brilliantly next to each other.

I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a really wonderful anthology, later out in multiple several sections that explore different aspects of queer history and the trials and tribulations of the LGBTQIA+ community. I always think that anthologies are a great way to discover new authors and poets, but often miss the mark so I don’t find myself reading them often. However, I’m so happy I picked this one up because it felt like it scratched an itch in my brain, and I’ll definitely be picking up more work from some of these authors. If you’re in a bit of a reading slump, looking for a starting point in poetry, or just want to discover some queer work, I really recommend this book.

Thank you to the publishers for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I just struggled to understand most of them, that's all. I'm not great at reading poetry.

I struggle with poetry at the best of times, so my rating is partly to do with that struggle.

I got the anthology during a book club event where Andrew McMillan spoke and shared why poems were selected and the process as whole, and he read a little bit. It was a wonderful talk and the brilliance of this anthology being strictly queer is amazing.

There were some poems I liked, others I was glad to have finished and some that just dragged. I appreciated the variety/diversity of voices.

Read and annotated this as a gift to my girlfriend. I wish more of the poems were inspiring or uplifting about the queer experience. Also some of them were just bad ngl (love u Josie hope u enjoy the rest!!). I think putting together an anthology of queer poems is brilliant but to have such a chunk of them focusing on trauma and grief is a bit :(( However, I some of them were lovely and I enjoyed those.
