Devious Little Liars
Saint View High Book 1
By Elle Thorpe
Narrated by Michael Gallagher and Kasi Hollowell
Murder, suspense, attraction, cover ups, teen angst, bully romance, this book has it all. The first in the Saint View High series, Elle Thorpe introduces us to Lacey who is pulled out of a fire in which her uncle dies. At least, that is what she thought. When it's found out a murder actually took place, she takes it upon herself to become the detective to try and find out not only who saved her, but the murderer! Going to Saint View High this semester may be the chance to find it. But what she gets is unexpected and at times a little scary. Colt, Banjo and Rafe all have an interest in the new girl, but Colt has laid down the law to stay away from her. The mystery is there, the chemistry and attraction with all three, and the suspense building. Are these boys suspects? Why does Colt hate her? And just wait to see what she finds out about her uncle! This reverse harem is more than just the characters. It a great story that leaves you hanging and wanting to find out more.
Michael Gallagher and Kasi Hollowell narrate this thrilling story. They both have great voices for the new adult books, and fit their voices to the characters. Gallagher has multiple points of view for the boys, and he nails each one with a different voice, creating the personality and making them realistic. Hollowell adds her charms and talents to Lacey giving her the strength to do what she has to do to try to find answers. It's a perfect casting and enjoyable performance.
