I purchased this book on a whim, though it was the description that spoke to me. As a repeat survivor and one who has endured a significant amount of trauma, and struggles to trust despite desiring connection, I felt a resonance in what the book was purported to be about. It seemed to be precisely the mindset I currently have. And it was. Ironically, I've met my own Gabriel who did exactly the same for me, and it's been the purest, most transformative love I've ever known. In that, I'm slowly beginning to find myself again. As someone who can very strongly relate to Ellie's mindset, this was well-written, and closely articulated thoughts I've had, too. Seeing it brought to life, was thought-provoking and inspiring.

Mia Sheridan didn't make me cry this time, but she did make me giggle and gasping with this story. It was a very heavy storyline, but I needed a break from all the fluffy romance books. I felt the pain of the charachters through this book, but what doesn't make it for me a 5 star books. It's the fact that at one point it felt a little repetitive.... that's it. I fell in love with George :)
