Ok, this was a weird one for me. At the beginning I found it quite hard to relate and didn’t understand why the character put herself in that situation. Then when some things happened... I was like, huh ok I wasn’t expecting this. I enjoyed it because it made me want to keep reading and find out what’s going on, but I felt like it was a bit all over the place. And then there was the ending.... I was like “what the heck?!” but not in a good way

Definitely an unputdownable one for me...until the last third of the novel where everything flipped. This was really disappointing in the end but could have been great! Not sure what happened or why the author went that way (honestly did not expect it from a female autbor) but it happened. Oh well! Can't all be winners.

I went into this book blind so I wasn’t sure what to expect but I’ve been a Fisher fan from the beginning and she never disappoints.
Very different writing than anything she has given us before. The book starts out slow like most thrillers, with lots of character build-up and it did not pull me in for several chapters. I could not relate to Tuesday and she was pretty annoying but once you get past her solo monologue and more characters arise it gets interesting. I thought I had this figured out about halfway through but I was a little off so it’s always good to get a surprise. However, there were a ton of plot holes and the conclusion could have been so much better.
Good job Tarryn, you took a risk with this one.

I think if I could do half stars, I think I’d rate it 2.5 stars. I’m rounding it up to three because I really liked the first half of the book. I was really intrigued, and things seemed interesting. The writing was good, and pacing was perfect.

But once I reached around the halfway point, things started to feel like a bit of a slog. I was a bit confused and a little bored at times, which isn’t what I’m looking for in a thriller. The last half, especially the ending, just felt lackluster compared to how promising it seemed at the beginning, and it felt like plot holes were left open.

If you’re really into books with unreliable narrators and willing to suspend some disbelief because the writing is good and the first half is very good, and are very into slow burn mysteries, this’ll likely be up your alley.

It seems that people either loved or hated this book and I unfortunately am the latter. While the premise had me hooked, the wife of a polygamist seeks out his other wives- I kept reading to find out where this story was going to go. It veered left, then right then left again and I struggled to know what was real and what wasn't- which I'm sure was intentional. I generally enjoyed this book until about 75% through it, however the ending was a terrible letdown.

Ya know what? This was a good book and I enjoyed reading it. I think there could have been a more interesting ending, but I was engaged all along the way, so good job, author!

SpoilerThis book was not good, I don’t know what else to say. I found the ending really depressing and frustrating, it is like the Movie Gaslight, except you find out the lady was crazy all along. Her husband is of course manipulative, and gaslights her, and uses her mental health problems to get what he wants, but in the end she was still delusional. It is the literally equivalent of JR waking up from his season long dream.
