i feel like this book was set up to be literary fiction-y, but it was, unfortunately, less deep than i was expecting. i just wish that their relationship as teenagers and its implications were explored more. also, this might just be me, but i could have gone without the epilogue. it would have been more meaningful if the book had ended with them both understanding and agreeing that they aren’t ready for a relationship yet OR if the epilogue had been set years into the future rather than a month?? after they decided to break up
THAT SAID, if you go in expecting a rom-com, you will definitely enjoy this book. it had me laughing in some parts and the steamy parts were STEAMY. it is by no means a bad book. heck, this book PREVENTED my reading slump!

Could not put this book down and almost stayed up all night to finish it. Almost cried toward the end and then sat on the subway smiling like an idiot after the epilogue

Enjoyment: 3.75 stars. 0.5 taken off just for the writing style at points bc brotherrrrrrrr. I have a horrible habit of craving the books that are written about in the books. Like I want to read eight and I want to read cursed and I’d kill to read the belle fleur generational possible memoir Eva was researching. The characters felt fully fledged and though I had to wade through a bit of culture shock because I do NOT know New York the way Eva does I came to really care for her and her daughter and Shane. Kind of need an Audre spin off because she just is that girl. If you don’t like toxic second chance romance this book is NOT for you

Hands down. Best book. I have EVER READ. I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK. Every single character was so deeply, well-developed, the plot was extremely entertaining and had me on the edge of my seat. Eva’s daughter, Aubre was the most amazing 12 year old and I loved all her witty remarks. The romance literally gave me goosebumps while sitting outside in the sun. Please please for the love of god read this book and let the tv series actually become a thing.
