This was such a good romance novel with all the good feels and some mixture of serious thrown in. It’s a book that showcases black joy and black successes was just so much fun!! I loved the characters and the structure of this book. Shane and Eva are everything one needs for a tragic teen love story that picks up again 25? years later, and the sex was nice and steamy. The structure takes place over the course of 7 days in June flashing back to the 7 days they spent together as teens. I also loved Audre, Eva's daughter, but could have done without Cece and so many elite party/awards scenes. However, I felt the Epilogue at the end was cheating on the structure she had created in the main book. The Epilogue was overlong and tried to pack too much in at once. It ended up coming across as both rushed ( I want more details about Louisiana, please!!) and too much going on for an epilogue. I do recommend this one if you are craving a romance lark!!

this was good. however, i did enjoy the first half of the book more than the second half. i definitely felt the emotions throughout the story and i was rooting for eva and shane the whole time. definitely not my favorite book but i would recommend if you want a quick romance story

I’m not a romance person but I enjoyed the intensity of this. The representation was refreshing and I kinda want to read the novels the characters wrote haha.
