Liked this one even more than the first book I read by this author! I wanted more Eric all around in terms of complexity. He felt too good to be true in the best way!

This was actually such a cute book. I think any one questioning who they are or being unsure of something could read this and be inspired. I personally think Miles and Eric’s relationship kinda started abruptly however we did skip some time as well so that makes sense. I had a feeling Miles would get caught in the auditorium with Shane so I’m not surprised even if I hated it because whyyy Miles ugh. And same for Paige like whyyyyy. But it’s realistic and I respect it. The ending kinda gave camp rock where we’re rooting for the main character(s), to win and then they come in second however I love that Miles impressed the judges enough to earn his trip to New York as well.
Thank you to NetGalley and Wednesday Books for providing me an earc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is a sweet and heartfelt queer YA romance. The book was filled with queer (particularly trans) joy and self-discovery. Any instrumentalist or teen at the top of their field will relate to Miles and his piano-playing ambitions. And anyone who has ever still had a crush of their ex, wanted a relationship who wasn't right for them, or fallen for someone unintentionally, will be able to relate to the romance.
This is certainly a book I will recommend to teens who like reading romance.

I loved this book. I will be holding it very closely to my heart for a long time.
I laughed, I cried, and then I cried some more. All tears of joy. Irrevocable, unequivocal, everlasting joy. This is the second book of Underhill’s I’ve read. The second book of his that I loved. I can’t wait to read the rest.
