The second book of my big big haul from King's Day flea market (see my Twitter). I just HAD to read this one as the second one, it sounded like a delight and it was! Meet Danny, a dragon... who cannot breathe fire. Then there is a mom who is NOT a morning person, a dad who is a bit too inspirational, a best friend who could use some more spirit/adventure, a cousin who is a sea serpent, some bullies but also some nice karma + more, and a big big adventure under the sea with sharks, puffer fish, and is that a Kraken?! It was all just one delight and I loved that we also got some comic pages along with the normal story. This one made me laugh and I enjoyed it a lot! I got the other 2 books as well, so I will be reading them soon!
Recommended!

Adorable! Another book that mixes chapter book and graphic novel formats. I love Danny's long suffering best friend, Wendell, who gets suckered in to Danny's hare-brained schemes, despite his better judgement.

Some books meant for younger readers can really be enjoyed at any age, but I don't feel like this is necessarily one of them. I think for its target audience it does it's job, but I wasn't engaged.

I have not seen a book like this before! It's half graphic novel, half regular novel, completely awesome. It reminds me of [b:Babymouse Queen of the World!|476909|Babymouse Queen of the World! |Jennifer L. Kid-friendly for all ages. I also think it takes the prize for being on the most book shelves on Goodreads (at least for me)!

Fun little book about a dragon and his adventures learning about the oceans. The story is in narrative form, with various pages of graphic novel dropped in with fun pictures.

I got this book many years ago, when I was young. I'm now in high school, and I still chuckled at the wit presented in this book. The vocab is a little too advanced for the demographic it's targeted towards but overall it's an interesting and humorous story.

A nice bridge into chapter books for graphic novel readers. The insertion of factual information was a tiny bit clunky as an adult reader but I think parents will appreciate its inclusion and kids may not even notice.

This is a highly illustrated chapter book. With words like "recalcitrant" and "presumptuous", the language and humor skew waaaay higher than the fun, goofy pictures would suggest. This might be a good read-aloud for an elementary kid with a sophisticated sense of humor, or for a great reader who wouldn't be put off by the cute but young-looking art (like me).
