Yet another great book from JP Delaney.
The narrative switches between the perspectives of the 3 main characters, which makes for an easy and enjoyable flow. This is a classic psychological family drama that touches on some very serious topics, all well researched and handled with the utmost care and respect.
A very enjoyable, clever read.
Thank you NetGalley and Quercus Books for a Review Copy.

I’m adopted. I didn’t know this was about adoption. I’ve read all JP’s books and loved them. But this was revelatory. I learnt more about myself than I can believe possible.

One day Susie Jukes is contacted on social media by a girl called Anna needing help. Only back then she was called Sky and was the daughter Susie gave up for adoption 15 years ago. Her strange behaviour causes tension between Susie and her husband Gabe and they begin to wonder if Anna’s behaviour is normal and if she is keeping secrets.
J P Delaney is one of my go to authors and again, even though not my favourite, this was still fabulous! I always find this authors storylines to be unique, fascinating with an added touch of glamour thrown into the mix.
The story is told from multiple points of view but it flows excellently. A lot happens in the book and the blurb only touches the surface of all the drama to be uncovered in the story!
I also find this author really fascinating and mysterious as I believe he writes under a few different pseudonyms and he has a very low key social media presence.

As always JP Delaney knocks it out the park!
A gripping read and a fascinating brief look into the adoption and foster world that many have no clue into.
I loved reading this book and was gripped to see what happened to each character. A real page turner once the scene is set!
TW - cancer, grief, teenage angst, fertility problems, drugs, sexual assault, toxic masculinity.
Thank you for letting me read an advanced copy!!

Very easy to read book. It was very underwhelming though and while I can understand that Susie, as the biological mother, may have unresolved guilt, she made some really bad and bizarre decisions. Book had a good premise but it dragged on and on and then suddenly the last couple of pages, wrapped everything up so neatly and in a manner akin to a "Disney Happily Ever After"
