Not my favorite poet, but a good mixture of his best poems (ones he deemed himself best) and collected poems that were unpublished at the time of his death. Also a very informative Notes section including a section on Verse/Patterns.

According to Wikipedia Thomas was interested in the "unity of all life", and the portrayal of the cycle of birth, death and life itself all at once. I would say he succeeded.

Though some of his thematic obsessions and repetitive images tire me, much more never does, nor does his invention, freedom and fire. His early and middle periods contain some of his most difficult, dense works, but this collection's ingenious idea to arrange a selection of his life's work in order of composition reveals a blossoming over the span of his amazingly short, wild life that's truly magnificent.

This is a really nice collection of Dylan Thomas's poetry and includes several of his most famous such as 'Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night'

Thomas's poetry isn't always the most accessible but it is none the less worth persevering with. The guidance notes at the back of the book which provide some background behind each poem are a particularly good feature.

Thomas had an obsession with death which often shows up in his poetry.
