Now that. Is a lot of blood.

finished my 2nd reread. While I still find the ending a bit abrupt, I also find it amazingly beautiful. This is without a doubt, Miyazaki's best work. Nausicaa's growth has been great to witness, shd us definitely one of my favourite protagonists.

It’s still as good as I remember. This volume has what I remembered most vividly before the reread, all shoved in together into one huge fastpaced conclusion.

I last read the series 10+ years ago, and only love it more now. A sprawling sci fi epic, an eco feminist tale. Reading this in 2025 and after Valerie Kaur's See No Stranger, I'm struck and moved by Nausicaa's style of leadership.

Miyazaki’s raw and honest battle with the question of if humans deserve to continue living in a beautiful world we willingly destroy is just as, if not more transcendently euphoric and nihilistic as you’d expect.
