I must really be in the minority here. I felt like the author was trying way too hard to be clever (and failing). Red herrings are only good if they make sense. And the datedness of the book really shines through with some pretty horrendous treatment of minorities and people with disabilities. This came recommended as a book that I could use in my 7th grade classroom, but I think that in 2019 we can do better.

My son bought this and I vaguely remember reading it as a kid. My mind needed a break from politics, so I picked it up. It was a clever and fun mystery and I enjoyed it.
