This is one of our Blue Hen nominations for the year 2023 and I'm so happy that I have read it. This book had me crying and I will say I don't get as emotional over books as I used to. This one really hit me hard though. It is a story about anxiety and how it is represented is very clever in my opinion. I really enjoyed the book and highly recommend this graphic novel.

This is the kind of book I wish I could hand to my younger self, as someone who can't conceptualize a time in my life where Depression and Anxiety were not ever-present in my life, and unlike Olivia's parents, who strive to help her, my mother's response that was that everyone felt that way, so I just needed to suck it up and go on with life,

This would be a great book for a young one who is just beginning to learn about their mental illness, as this is a beautiful story about growth, support, and learning to vocalize your needs.

This book was really eye opening and I related so much even as an adult. Now I do not know what it is like to be part of a minority race so I am not own voices on this subject so please please check out own voices review.
I have anxiety and the way this graphic novel depicted it was absolutely flawless. I deeply felt and understood everything the main character was feeling in regards to her anxiety. This is definitely a graphic novel I would suggest anyone who struggles with anxiety check out!

An absolute MUST read #ownvoices middle grade graphic novel about being the daughter of Chinese immigrant parents, struggling to fit in and living with anxiety. This was such an impactful read that I am sure young readers will be able to relate to so many of the themes in this book. I LOVED Livy and especially how well the author embodied her anxious thoughts in the form of "Viola." Highly, highly recommend this one by new to me Canadian author Rosena Fung!

Confirming that we can learn everything we need for 'how to human' from junior fiction.

I would have given a lot to read a book like this as a child. I really appreciate the anxiety rep I've started to find in recent years.
