This book was every bit as good as I hoped it would be! Romeo in Romeo and Juliet always gave me the ick and this novel explores exactly why from the perspective of the woman he loved 5 minutes before he met Juliet. Highly recommend it when it comes out on 31st July.

Rosaline would annoy me a bit throughout the reading with her whining and woe-is-me behavior; but then I would just remind myself that was was young and we all go through that phase.

Overall, I loved this retelling, or rather un-telling, of the classic Romeo and Juliet story.

I'm a big Shakespeares fan and once I read the synopsis of this retelling I had to grab it. I was so excited to read this book and I enjoyed it a lot. it was a great retelling and how you see different point of views of characters you thought you knew. It was fantastic seeing a strong minded and determined woman as the main character in the setting the book takes place in. The wording was fantastic. It did lag to me in the middle but even with that I enjoyed the book tremendously.
