This was a very quick read that was action packed at the end. It was very fast paced but had a happy ending. I liked it.

Listen. I don’t want this rating to be a reflection of Joe Arden and Rose Dioro’s talent and chemistry because they were 5⭐️ the whole way.
And honestly, the book itself was a solid 4⭐️… until we get to chapter ten. Like, hear me out but a six year time jump? Where we learn that the former ex-, now deceased wife was so vindictive that she literally got cancer. The baby she was *pregnant* with six years ago is somehow six years old. 🥴 And Naomi is in her mid thirties calling a Sergeant a “fucking pussy” because he won’t make eye contact but also she looks away anytime she thinks he’s looking in her direction so really how would she know.
There’s attempted murder, kidnapping, espionage, and willful disregard of direct orders and it all happens in THREE CHAPTERS. There are a half dozen NEW characters introduced just to make it all happen.
It just doesn’t make sense.

This was a super quick and easy listen on audio. Joe Arden is a narration god and I love him. The book itself was good and I liked it. As a novella length book it definitely felt rushed at times. I liked the chemistry between sawyer and Naomi. Their chemistry was great. The heartbreak and pain in their story was well done. There was just a lot going on for such a short story. I liked it though and would definitely recommend it if you need a quick, steamy romance.
