absolutely not for me, and when I reached the conclusio I really thought "all that for THAT?". Cheap horror story, I loved no Exit but his other books are really not working for me at the moment, too bad

I really had an enjoyable time reading this book. This is one of my favorite authors, and if it wasn't a Taylor Adams book I am honestly not the type to pick up a "ghost-thriller". It was good for a paranormal based book. Some relatable themes and human emotions are explored and plenty of twists in the plot to keep you on your toes. Great read!

Graphic: Gun violence

This was a fast-paced and tense read. The line between what was imagination and fiction was very fine; I had such a hard time putting it down. The book was so well-written, I felt like I was running for my live with Dan and Addie, being chased by a relentless demon. One concept I found confusing was how Dan never checked up on his pseudo alarm that kept reminding him that he'd like his front (and back) door open. This is not your run-of-the-mill ghost story. Page-after-page kept me hooked, I had to know what would happen next.

Dan is a well-known ghost hunter who has set out on investigating a case all his own: a cursed Russian rifle. The legend says that every person who has owned the gun has died within 24 hours of it coming into their possession. Dan is determined to either break the cycle or put an end to the gun in the process. But as strange things start happening--visions, blackouts, time travel--he learns he may just have taken on more than he can handle. Can he find a solution before the 24 hours is up?
I thought the concept here was very interesting. But I honestly struggled with the overall story. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense, is a bit disjointed, and is certainly hard to follow. It just didn't click for me at all.
