slow-paced
For a book with a shipwreck, cannibals and pirates, an awful lot of nothing happens in it. Unless you like goats.

I was hoping for an exciting adventure story and was disappointed. I found it quite hard to get through and admittedly, didn't finish it. The prose was long-winded and very detailed which took away from the otherwise interesting plot.

Read the classics. Either you will find them educational and useful or not. Some find classic novels too long or they don't like the characters behavior but if you want to see how people once behaved and lived you will probably enjoy this one and other classic books.

Not the best book I've ever read but I thought I should probably read it. Robinson Crusoe's island is off of the Chilean coast-although it's fiction.

Out of all the classics this was the most boring and slow one to read. I almost DNFd it. I have to say that there was only one part that I happened to read a little faster and it was when the first and second storm happened while he was going to the Guinea islands. Other than that this book is just a major repetition in minuscule useless details all around. And I get it, it was all about God from the start, but Robinson just gets on my nerves every time he thinks or does something, plus he never and i repeat NEVER stays still. He finishes somethung and literally says "okay, what now?". BOY IF YOU DON'T SIT DOWN FOR A MOMENT.
