Intrigued to read the series now.

Wicked Wolf was a short, but nice, novella to dive into. It's always interesting to see two groups, or more, start off one different sides of something.. just to come together towards the end of the book. It makes my heart happy and it always makes the book fly by.

In this book, you will meet two wolf packs - Redwood and Talon. Interesting to get a Talon wolf pack since I was just listening to a Talon dragon pack. To say that my brain was completely okay with all of this - it wasn't and that would be a lie.

Then came Gina and Quinn - ugh they were adorable. Of course things didn't start off well but we all knew how things were going to end between them. Couldn't help but ship them because they were both so likable. In the end, I wanted these two packs to merge into an even bigger bad ass one and I was completely happy with how this one ended.

You do a big jump from last book to this. In last book Gina mark Finn are children and happily living after war. This book Gina is around 21 and starting a council to have pack cooperation and share ideas.
On the council she meets her mate Quinn but he's a broken wolf. His mate use dark magic witch to cut the mating bond and pack bond to escape her responsibly.
Quinn doesn't want a witch as mate but to help cure his son of a weird unexplained disease, Quinn and Gina mate.
Great story and action included. Interesting things with Finn and possible Brynn. Great HEA.

This is a bridge book. The end of the Redwood Pack series and the beginning of the Talon Pack series but not really a part of either so it can be read stand-alone.
Gina is a hybrid half wolf half witch. She was orphaned by the war as a young girl and taken in by the alpha couple and added to their family. Now 26 she is a young dominant female who has been foretold to be the Packs future Enforcer. To prep her for that role and to help prepare for unnamed problems ahead the Alphas of the Redwood pack and the Talon pack have decided to form a council of sorts to help the packs come together and not join but get along better. Gina is to lead the Redwood contingent.
Quinn is a strong lieutenant from the Talon pack. He has been mated before. His wife had a witch sever the mate ties between them just after she gave birth to their son. Jesse has never been healthy since and is starting to fail. So Quinn is not at his best when his Alpha assigns him to lead the Talon contingent and the fact that he is attracted to the half witch bugs the hell out of him.
Wicked Wolf is a super fast paced shifter romance with all the traits that make it a Carrie Ann Ryan hit. When you read a Carrie Ann Ryan shifter romance you enter a world like and unlike our own. There is magic and wonder and hurt and pain and smoking hot sex and a happily ever after. If you haven’t read a Carrie Ann Ryan book this might be a good one to start with.

Great read

I really enjoyed this one. It was a fun read that gave us an introduction to the next generation as they are grown/growing up. I loved the little introduction to the Talon pack as well. The characters were great and held my attention from beginning to end.

Another wonderful book! It’s nice to have this bridge between the Redwoods and the Talons series.

To start with I have to admit that I had never read this authors work until now and I worried that this being book 8 in the series I would be totally lost. I was pleasantly surprised to find that while I knew I was missing pieces of the entire story I was never lost or never felt like I needed to stop reading before I ruined myself for all the books that came before this one. This is exactly how a novella in an anthology should be written. It gives new readers like me the story they are looking for with out leaving us confused and hooking us on a new series and it gives fans of the series what they are looking for which is another part of the tale, movement forward for books to come.

Quinn and Gina, members of different packs have been thrown together to form a council made up of members from the two packs in hopes of bringing the packs together as the fear of upcoming war looms.

The tensions between Quinn and Gina starts right from their first meeting and they hook you right away. I had all the feels with these two, love, hate, angst, fear, sorrow....it was all there. Were there times I wanted to throttle each of them, sure, but when can't I say that about a book? The majority of the time I spent getting invested in their emotions (especially when it came to Quinn's Son) and in the Redwood pack series in general.

One of my favorite things about this story was simply Gina and that is saying a lot because I am often left wanting to pull the hair out of most heroines heads, ha. Gina is a strong, sassy, independent, family oriented woman who isn't going to put up with anyone's crap, especially Quinns. I adored her connection to her family and how they all rally behind each other in times of need but know when to step back and let each person handle life on their own. I think that may be the biggest draw to the Redwood pack series for me, these family relationships. They are the kind of relationship we all wish we had with our loved ones and Gina's brothers totally made me melt in a puddle, a bunch of stinking sweethearts is what they are and I just know they are going to have some awesome stories in the future...ladies watch out for those Jamenson boys!

Sufficed to say I have a new series to dive into and if you are a paranormal romance fan like me I hope you will check this one out as well as all the other 1001 Dark Night Novellas!
