Started out a bit dull and dry, but soon got more interesting, and by the end I was in love with the Wrights and in awe of what they accomplished and how they changed the world.

Terrific! Read most of this on a round trip flight to Chicago from Boston. Really put matters in perspective.

Everyone’s heard of the Wright Brothers but how many people really know the full story of how airplanes were invented? I really enjoyed this!

Engaging and well-written, but I wouldn't say gripping. I enjoyed reading it, but I didn't have a problem putting it down and picking it up again at some later time. It was very informative without being too technical for this lay-person to understand. I appreciated the full picture of the life of these men, made larger than life by their extremely important place in history. McCullough told their story, while giving them each a voice and making the times they lived in clear.

Outstanding!! I’m not usually a nonfiction reader, but I’m originally from the Dayton area and am loosely related to the Wright brothers, so I might have loved it more for those reasons. The author does an amazing job of bringing their journey to life. I felt like I rode the ups and downs of their adventure right along with them, and was left with a world of appreciation for their character and fortitude. I originally borrowed from the library and plan to purchase my own copy after reading!!
