this wasn’t the book for me. i‘m not sure why though.
i liked aza as a character but daisy was the absolute worst. the characters felt a little flat and i don’t have an opinion about most of them.
the story? boring. i didn’t enjoy the mystery or the relationship that developed between davis and aza because of said mystery.
the ocd representation was a lot sometimes so definitely check the tw but as far as i can judge it it was good representation.

Goddamn John Green, you’ve done it again. My only qualm is that I wish high school me had read this. She would’ve really resonated with Aza.

It felt so underwhelming. At first I related to Aza and I definitely do, I love her character development or lack of one. Like instead of her being perfect and you know healthy it’s realistic. I kind of feel the plot falls flat. Not much else to say I guess.

This, to me, is such an important book. Though the plot itself may not be tremendously innovative, Green's descriptions of the emotional highs and lows of life with anxiety/OCD are at once nauseating, jarring, and comforting in their accuracy. The last few paragraphs gave me goosebumps. As with "The Anthropocene Reviewed," I am profoundly grateful for Green's work here. A rare reread.

Very well written and interesting! I could not put it down (which is why this review was written 4:36 in the morning)

Ed: After mulling it over more, I decided that I loved it, and I think it’s the most sophisticated book Green has written by far.
