4.5 stars. Excellent graphic memoir about the eventful life of former Representative John Lewis. A profile in courage. This can easily be read in one sitting and would be a great book to share with the young people in our lives.
I will definitely be finishing this series.

I don't naturally gravitate to graphic novels but I have enjoyed many of the ones I have read.
John Lewis is one of my heroes but my desire to read this book was sparked by an interview on CBC and the harsh tweets of DJT.
My only regret is that I only brought part one home from school this weekend.

I wish all three volumes of this series were together in one book. This first volume was just too short to be very interesting. You can tell that Congressman Lewis had an interesting life (if you didn't already know his background), but it just gets started in this book and you're left hanging, knowing that more is yet to come. It just feels very incomplete... which it is.
