This is such an interesting part of the tales of the early northern peoples. I had never read these Welsh folktales until now, and listening to the two different translations back to back was especially intriguing. I especially like the overlap between The Mabinogion and the poems of Chrétien de Troyes, as seeing what each culture emphasizes in the stories facinates me.

I’m. Surprised that this isn’t more widely read. It’s a collection of Welsh myths/ folk tales. I would have given it 4 stars, if it didn’t dramatically overuse the word ‘and’. No!

I'm going to need to read this through a second time because my goodness was this convoluted. The translation was a bit of a headache to read, being apparently literal, but the stories underneath it all were fascinating.
