Really good book, better than the first two. Couldn't put it down.

This book was kind of boring compared to the first two, which was disappointing. However, I did like the introduction of another girl character, and I'm interested to see what happens next!

I did like this book better than the last one. It really closes out all that has happened in the last 2 books especially Rogue) and gets readers ready for the next turn of events that I assume will take us through the series. I thought that the little twists and turns in the book were cleverly crafted. I mean there was really no other option considering the circumstances than for Marc to go into exile. I thought Rachel Vincent did a good job making that whole scenario really either Faythe or Marc there was no other way to play it. Malone was irritating, but that was the point of his character so he was well done. I thought that Faythe seemed to be learning more by the end of the this book about negotiating what you want and thinking through things rather than flying off the handle as we've seen her do in the past books up to this point (and even at the beginning of this book as well). I'm really glad that i'm reading this series now that it's complete otherwise I know I would hate waiting. While the stories don't really end on a cliffhanger note (the major conflict of the story is resoved) they all blend into each other like one big continuing story. I'm the end will be an irrefutable happy ending because right now the books end on more somber notes with things being ok, but not altoghether perfect. So I just hope by the end and after everyone goes through everything they go through in these books that we get a nice settled happy ending for the characters.

I hate Faythe so much.

Pride had it's funny moments - mostly from the bears.. but it also had it's kind sad and frustrating moments too. Both of those actions are due to the wonderfully annoying Faythe. She deserves to die alone at this point. She doesn't deserve Marc or Jace - she needs to be alone. Forever.

Besides that love triangle of horribleness, there's Malone. No, not post Malone - the singer. It's the evil guy that kind of wants Faythe's dads job on the council. He also probably wants Faythe (like DEEEEEEP down where no one can see it) but he's mostly butt hurt that he holds zero power. He wants power.. just doesn't have the authority to be captain of anything or anyone. He basically sucks ass. However, everyone wants him to die because he's so god damn evil. I hate him and I hate how he acts towards certain people in this book.

Overall, I loved the bears more than I did everyone else. I also really liked the little twists about the killer tabby chick. She was interesting and highly entertaining. Other than that, this book was pretty much terrible.

I think this is the strongest book in this series yet! This book definitely seems to be a key book for the series as it shows Faythe becoming stronger and making more decisions for herself as well as for others. She is definitely heading in the direction of one day taking over her father's position in the pride. This book has a little bit of everything as it's a mix of fantasy, horror, romance, comedy, etc... Really looking forward to PREY to come out this July!

Best book in the series yet! Lots of actions! Loved everything that was going on. Faythe is one smart tabby. And now it looks like Kaci will be following in her footsteps. I have a feeling Faythe can figure a way around anything! And maybe Marc and her will finally settle down. ha!

I did like it better than book 2, which was good too. But here there was just something, the fear about what those idiots would do to her. I did get a bit annoyed by her too, a tiny bit, cos she could just have said that yes I am gonna start having kittens soon and the whole trial could have been over. But that would have killed the plot, but still.

Politics truly play into this book. Malone, one alpha is such an ass, he wants the tabbies at home breeding, and no strays like Marc near the prides. I sure got upset by him and I hope he gets what is coming to him.

Here there is also some strays trying to build their own pride, and going a bit crazy, and the hunt for a young tabby that has come from nowhere.

Tension with Marc too.

All in all, a really good book that made me wanna pick up the next.

I want to be a werecat! For anyone who hasn’t read this series yet, they center around a species of shifter that can turn themselves into large, panther-like cats. Like werewolves, they have a complex society and way of life, that is usually pretty fascinating. Werecats prefer to keep their females docile and protected, so seeing the series’ main character, Faythe battle her way through this heavily patriarchal society is all kinds of awesome.

In this book, some of the series previous arcs come to a head as Faythe is put on trial for her actions. Seriously, some of these curmudgeony old men will have you fist-shaking like nobodies business. Malone is right up there with Professor Umbridge on my list of infuriating characters. Now that’s good writing! The trial itself is a great sampling of werecat society as the Territorial Council’s true motives are put on display.

Faythe’s romantic life takes some interesting turns in this book, that I didn’t see coming. We also meet a new character who will play an important role in future books, Kaci. Kaci is a young werecat who is essentially put into Faythe’s care. I love the big sister-little sister relationship these two have going.

Must. Keep. Reading.

Seriously, as much as I enjoyed this book, it mostly just makes me want to keep going with the rest of the series.

So with my reread of this series halfway done, I’m just as hooked as I was the first time around. The series arc took some pretty big leaps forward, we met valuable characters, and Faythe managed to grow a little as a character. All great! And things only get more intense from here, so you should definitely check out this series if you haven’t already!

Again, this took me a while to read (mostly due to the fact i had end of term exams!) but also it seemed to drag in some parts...but by the last half or so it really started to pick up and i didn't put it down once! Sometimes i think Faythe needs a good smack on the head! But overall, loving this series!
