I love the way this fleshed out the world further, and Haymitch's story is so so tragic. But I don't think anything will live up to the original series.

Suzanne, don't break my heart like this.
I read this book in one day, essentially in one sitting. The depth of the characters and their relationships from the original Hunger Games trilogy was enhanced in such a wonderful way. Haymitch is a fascinating narrator and I could not read fast enough to keep up with the rollercoaster of emotions. Call backs and references from the other books abound in the best way.
My only criticism is now I have to go back and read the original trilogy again, keeping me from my ever growing TBR...

(I fear I could only picture Woody Harrelson’s head on a teenagers body the whole time though)
