This was a solid read. It did a little too much hinting-to-the-end for me. Like I did read the beginning, friend. I know that we're headed somewhere traumatic, so I don't need a trillion reminders. But I did like that it captured the absolute messiness of high school and emotions and families. Felt a bit like it trailed off after the climax - like the end wasn't as strong. May read this author again.

The foreshadowing was perfect. I knew it all along. The very first page told me. Still, I fell for it. My soft, stupid heart believed every word. And yet, here I am, writing this as tears stream down my face. This was beautiful in every way. The romance I’ve always wanted. Autumn was right. I knew it when she said it. Sad things can be beautiful. I hope everyone gives this book a chance. I won’t be forgetting it any time soon.

I’m not a fan of YA books and hardly ever chose them to read. However, I kept hearing about this story and then was gifted this book by a friend. At first I struggled to get into the writing style but after several chapters I was hooked. I was instantly taken back to middle/high school and felt like I was watching this love story unfold from a fellow students pov. I will say knowing how it was going to end did soften the blow and I’m not sure if I liked that it was reveled right at the beginning of the story. Also, the mental struggles for both the main character and her mother were great representation on how a teenager would view and have to cope with the emotions and feelings.
Loved the short chapters and the tragic story line. It was rather predictable for me but I would definitely recommend this if you are a YA fan or just need a break from adult fiction.

Oh, my God. I am absolutely distraught. That ending really got me, man. After I finished it, I genuinely felt like I had to throw up.

THEY DESERVED SO MUCH BETTER AND I FELT SO BAD FOR FINNY. HE WAITED SO LONG FOR HER BUT OF COURSE MOTHER NATURE HAD OTHER PLANS.

I can’t lie, I couldn’t really 100% connect to these characters, no matter how relatable I found them. I found it hard to root for Autumn and Finny, when for 80% of the book they were with different people. I also felt like everything between Autumn and Finny was pretty surface level from what we were given, and we just had to trust when the author said they had this unbreakable connection since they were younger. It was all tell and no show. There was too much insight on her friends and boyfriend instead of the actual aspect of the book, but I do appreciate the turns and foreshadowing. Every conversation between Autumn and Finny was very basic and not much of each personality was coming out and it really frustrated me because I was really looking forward to reading this book.
