I freaking loved this enemies to lovers story. With so many of us missing out on family this year, it was a joy to read about the uniting of two families in this small town romance. Celebrate the holiday, run the relay, watch the parade and enjoy a small town carnival in the safety of your home. No mask required.

Kyler and Maeve were total opposites in high school. He was the football hero. She was the Plain Jane that didn't exist. He is the guy that everyone adores in town. Maeve has returned to home after a failed married and unrecognizable.

A meddling mother knows what Maeve needs. A mother knows best and takes the initiative to get her daughter to the Thanksgiving celebration. Kyler has something to prove and runs the race with a ego that gets in the way.

A Date with a Turkey is a fun journey for the reader while the characters stumble along. The only thing missing from this story is the recipe for Carrot Cake.

Coming back to your hometown after finalizing your divorce is never an easy thing to deal with, but add in crossing paths with the one man who made your high school years a living hell is just the icing on the cake. But can Kyler prove to Maeve that he is not the same juvenile boy he was in high school? Or will Maeve hold true to not getting involved with her first crush? Absolutely the best book in the series. This story had me laughing out loud as well as sighing with happiness.

Blurb is a little pun heavy
Isn't it annoying how mothers always meddle, and it ends up being a good thing? But, old hurts are hard to overcome. And Maeve is harbouring some deep, old hurts.
But, oh, I like Maeve. She's assertive, professional and taciturn. Perfect for running into the popular boy from high school who never used to know you existed but managed to make life miserable anyway.
Kyler seems like he hasn't lost the bravado that comes with popularity, but he's definitely not the same person. Life knocked him down a peg or two and he's making a place for himself in the community he grew up in.
It's disconcerting how diving into someone's social media has become a regular part of dating. I mean, know who you're dating sure, but there has to be a limit right?
I appreciate when kids in books act their ages and Logan is awesome (and a little special because I have a nephew we call Logie-bear).
I received an arc of this in exchange for an honest, voluntary review. All opinions are my own

Thanksgiving is all about family and people coming together to make the season warm and inviting. This book does just that, it pulls you in and makes you thankful for the characters and the smiles they bring. McLaughlin and Dover do a great job of bringing romance to the Thanksgiving holiday.
