Cute! It was read by a bunch of famous actors like Brad Pitt, Alan Rickman, Whoopie Goldberg, etc. The stories were overall pretty fun, though a couple I didn't understand. Some of them were pretty funny. So a good mix of different types of stories with different messages.

I listened to this on a whim and it was delightful. The cast is filled with familiar voices, there's lovely music throughout, and the stories were all so unique. This was a lot of fun.

Um bom livro de contos para conhecer histórias tradicionais de outras culturas e para ir lendo devagar.

A wholly entertaining audiobook. Let's face it: the real stories here are the narrators, and some are simply magical. The sublime caramel-voiced Alan Rickman reads the first story, which is both inspired (start with the incomparable) and questionable (downhill from there). Other favorites are Helen Mirren, LeVar Burton, CCH Pounder, Jurnee Smollett, Don Cheadle, Charlize Theron, and Sophie Okenedo.

I love reading folk stories from different countries.

My favourite one was 'The Mother Who Turned To Dust'.

This would be a great book for children. I enjoyed the stories from a cultural perspective, more so than from a moralistic one. Obviously, the problem being that I'm a little too old for childish preaching. But, I would love to read this book to my children someday.

I highly recommend the audiobook for this! Each story is narrated by a different celebrity, and hearing the different narration styles was very fun.
