Vibes - IDGAF, Meh
Rough draft at most
This was just stale. The dialogue was clunky and stilted. There were parts that were repeated. It felt like a first draft. There was no heart or emotion, it just felt bland. I get that a lot of monster romances have the breeding kink in some way but there was far too much of him

"making her filled with his sons."
It was just creepy and cringey. The spice was cringey too which made it less hot.

A fast paced, dual POV, grumpy sunshine romance with a monster boyfriend? Yes please!
Iāve been in a reading slump recently and wanted a quick and steamy romance. This was delivered splendidly in Cookies for My Orc Neighbour.
I enjoyed the dual POV, though felt more connected to Alden than Grace, as he had more chapters in his POV. He also felt like a more fleshed out character thanks to the bit of backstory we got about his upbringing. I liked him tremendously as a main character.
The grumpy sunshine element of the story was a large draw card and done well. Alden wasnāt so grumpy that he was an arsehole - just enough to challenge Graceās bubbly nature.
I might be reading too much into this but I felt that Aldanās Orc heritage and the way people react to it, was a perfect symbol of how minorities/foreigners have been treated throughout history (Germans, Japanese, Korean), and even today (Muslims).
When it comes to the steamy scene, for all his uncontrollable lust, Aldenās first priority is pleasuring Grace and preparing her to āfitā him - not just shoving straight in. I appreciated the inclusion of this detail - gotta love a guy who takes care of his woman. There was also great clear enthusiastic consent by Grace.
I wasnāt overly a fan of the large focus on having babies (from both sides) and settling down. Though this is personal preference, and I was able to mostly overlook (haha see what I did there - Iāll show myself out) this.
There were a few repeated phrases that can easily be edited out.
Content warnings:

This was actually such a cute and quick story lol the way the story is written tends to slow down the paceā¦ but still, we love a wild, protective and sweet orc
